He will promise you the world to get your money, then disappear, dismiss your concerns, and ultimately steal from you. His communication is horrid. Weeks will go by with no response to direct, important questions. When he does reply, it’s useless excuses like "I'm away at a dog show" or "I'm at a rescue," without ever actually answering what you asked. He stonewalls you until you're forced to chase him for basic information. We signed up for a $16,000 "Bodyguard" level Doberman. After 8 months of his supposed "elite training," we flew across the country from California to see a dog that couldn't perform a simple "down" command. His own son tried to demonstrate, yanking down hard on her leash, and she still wouldn't do it. When we confronted Bobby, his excuse was, "Oh, she doesn't do down in the cold." It was 62 degrees in late May. His lies are as insulting as they are absurd. When we pushed for basic health transparency before booking a second cross-country flight, Bobby couldn't handle the accountability. Instead of acting like a professional, he unilaterally cancelled our contract via email, sold the dog from under us, and then had the audacity to steal our money. He shorted our $8,000 deposit by $1,144.00. He sent us a vet bill and a handwritten note charging us $175 for his own "Time & Travel" for an appointment he took his dog to. I purchased my German Shepherd from Bobby and Metro K9 Academy last year. I had training done with Bobby and took my female Shepherd home at 4 months of age. Right from the very start i noticed this German Shepherd was calm and very attentive and obedient. I should mention that i have had 4 previous German Shepherds from other breeders and none had the disposition and calmness that this dog possessed. It is now at the 1 year mark and my dog is by far the best Shepherd i have owned and very family oriented and calm but at the same time protective of the house and my property. She is extremely obedient and friendly when i am out with her at my grandchildren's sporting events. i cant say enough about the Metro K9 Academy and the staff. I have been obediences training with Metro K9 for the last 2 1/2 years. I have a golden retriever “Groot” With Bobby Gierla’s help my boy has amazing manners and can go everywhere with me. What I have learned: Training a dog is about training a human and practicing with your pup the things that Bobby has taught. My Groot now has his CGC and is a certified therapy dog. Groot now visits various hospitals and nursing homes and brings joy to others. His presence is healing. I love the metro K9 community and the support they offer. I recommend highly!
